History

Since the late 1700’s, our location has been making history as the home to Provincetown’s very first hotel, the Pilgrim House, which hosted many an infamous visitor, including Author, Poet & Philosopher, Henry David Thoreau.

Having come to their beloved Provincetown for decades, former proprietresses Diane DiCarlo and Jeanne Leszczynski purchased the property in 2011, and re-named it Sage Inn. They undertook a full-scale renovation, introducing many green features, including rooftop solar panels, a live herb wall, and installed a dedicated Tesla car charging station and two others compatible with all electric cars.

In 2017, under new ownership, the Sage Inn introduced The Landing Bistro & Bar, Provincetown’s first authentic farm-to-table restaurant. Harkening back to its illustrious history as a venue for performers such as Judy Garland and Lily Tomlin, the Sage Inn is proud to feature live music, comedy and entertainment nightly in the Madeira Room.

Come visit us in this historic and special spot in Provincetown!
