History

Since the late 1700’s, our location has been making history as the home to Provincetown’s very first hotel, the Pilgrim House, which hosted many an infamous visitor, including Author, Poet & Philosopher, Henry David Thoreau.

Having come to their beloved Provincetown for decades, proprietresses Diane DiCarlo and Jeanne Leszczynski purchased the property in 2011. Following a lengthy renovation that included a new 100-seat first floor function space, Lounge, commercial kitchen and redesigned rooms, Sage Inn & Lounge opened for business in 2012.

Responding to guest demand, in 2014, a renovation of several guest rooms was completed, which added several, more spacious King rooms, including a Suite complete with sky lit sitting area, to the property. Then, in 2015, to further their mission of being a green hotel, rooftop solar panels were added and the property became one of the only on Cape Cod with a dedicated Tesla car charging station and two others compatible with all electric cars.

Since 2012, Sage Inn & Lounge has quickly become a leading destination in Provincetown and Cape Cod. We invite you to experience our history and unique brand of hospitality!
